American Maritime
Protection & Security LLC, in conjunction with local correctional
facilities detains and processes illegal stowaways for safe return to
their originating countries. The process begins when a stowaway is
removed from a vessel. Immigration and Naturalization is notified and
the stowaway is given the opportunity to speak with a representative
of their originating country. The process of seeking political asylum
begins with the Immigration and Naturalization Service hearing each
case to determine whether that individual should remain in the United
States or be deported back to their originating country. If
deportation is required, AMPS will transport and arrange housing in a
correctional facility until INS has completed all deportation
paperwork. AMPS will then be informed by INS that a team is needed to
repatriate/deport detainees.
Each
detainee is outfitted with clothing and shoes on the day of travel.
All detainees traveling are dressed alike for security purposes. One
member of AMPS’ Deportation Team notifies the captain of the airline
as to the number of detainees and follows all instructions of said
airline while on board.
Detainees shall remain in AMPS’ Deportation Team’s custody until
originating country has been reached. Detainees will be released to
proper authorities upon arrival in originating country.
Deportation Team will then return to the United States. All INS
forms, and identifications will be returned to proper shipping
agencies for further processing.
